MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Storm “Perla” was spotted almost stationary at 790 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes, the state weather bureau said Friday.

In its 11 a.m. weather update, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Perla is still packing maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center, and gustiness of up to 80 kph.

Pagasa said extreme Northern Luzon may experience occasional gusty conditions due to the prevailing northeasterly surface wind flow until early next week.

The state weather bureau added that Perla will not expected to cause any high impact weather over extreme Northern Luzon.  /muf
