Bus slams into center island in Albay town

CAMALIG, Albay — A passenger bus bound for Sorsogon province accidentally slammed into a center island here, causing moderate to heavy traffic in the area early Tuesday morning.

“The driver avoided a car in front of him, which made a full stop. So in order not to inflict damage, he maneuvered the steering wheel and hit the concrete barrier,” said Rodel Alba, inspector of the Bicol Isarog bus.

The bus came from Manila and was on its way to Bulan town when the accident happened at the boundary of Barangay Ilawod and Centro Poblacion at around 3 a.m.

Alba said no passenger was hurt in the accident and they were safely transferred to another bus.
