MANILA, Philippines — A driver of motorcycle ride-hailing service Angkas was arrested in Quezon City for alleged acts of lasciviousness against a female passenger, police said Monday.
According to a report from the Quezon City Police District-Station 9 (PS-9), the victim, whose identity is being withheld, had a drinking session with her friends and booked for a ride with Angkas at 9 p.m. Saturday.
Investigation showed that while they were negotiating CP Garcia Avenue in Barangay UP Campus, the suspect identified as Herbert Teves allegedly put his hand inside the shorts of the victim and touched her private parts. Police said the victim did not immediately react out of fear.
Upon reaching Katipunan Avenue, the suspect then allegedly touched the victim’s legs, but still gripped with panic, the victim again did not react to the alleged assault.
