Police post photo of person of interest in Zambo del Sur abduction

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur, Philippines — The Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office released on Sunday an image of a person of interest linked to the abduction of a British national and his Filipino wife on Friday.

The image, which was posted on Facebook, an image captured by closed-circuit television (CCTV) of a man wearing a cap and glasses, carrying a bag inside a grocery store in Tukuran town, where Allan Arthur Hyrons and his wife Wilma Paglinawan were kidnapped from their own beach resort.

Police said they had recovered a receipt of the purchase made by the man at the crime scene after the abduction took place.

The Zamboanga del Sur police also placed the entire province, especially the coastal towns, on full alert to secure the area.

Police and civilian authorities also called on the public to remain calm and vigilant.
