Police hunt for man who shot 3 in Pasay City
MANILA, Philippines—A man claiming to be a Pasay City hall employee is the subject of a police manhunt after he allegedly shot and seriously wounded three persons, including a sexagenarian and a 28-year-old woman, in his shooting rampage late Friday night in Pasay City.
Angelo Corsame fled aboard his motorcycle after gunning down Leopoldo Balmes, 39, of Paranaque City, and his 61-year-old uncle Carlito Balmes, of Lakandula Street, Barangay 66 Zone 6, Pasay City.
Prima May Lactao, of Cuenca Street, was hit by one of the stray bullets that got into her home.
The victims all remain confined at the Pasay City General Hospital for bullet wounds in different parts of their bodies. Balmes sustained gunshot wounds in the left side of the chest, his body, and his right leg while his uncle was shot in the abdomen and right thigh. Lactao was hit in the forehead.
Pasay City police investigation and detective management (SIDM) division head, Chief Inspector Joey Goforth revealed that the incident happened around 11 p.m., Friday, inside the Dizon Compound along Lakandula Street.
Goforth said that before the incident, the younger Balmes had figured in a heated argument with Corsame whose temper allegedly drove him to draw a .45-cal. pistol and start shooting at his unarmed foe.
