Stall guard killed

A market caretaker was stabbed to death on his birthday by still unidentified robbers in Quezon City on Christmas Day.

PO1 Alvin Quisumbing of the homicide unit of the Quezon City Police District identified the victim as Jesus Balaza who turned 70 years old yesterday.

His body was found with multiple stab wounds inside a stall at 269 Katipunan Ave. Barangay Loyola Heights at around 6 a.m.

The investigator said Balaza sustained more than 20 stab wounds all over his body.

Found beside him was an empty cash box which contained P7,000 in cash, according to the owner of the stall where the victim was killed.
