7 hurt in four-vehicle collision in Quezon
LUCENA CITY – At least seven motorists were injured in a four-vehicle collision in Lopez town in Quezon province early Sunday, police said.
Driver Arjay Lopez accidentally lost control of his truck-trailer and subsequently rammed three other vehicles before crashing into a house at the roadside in Barangay (village) Malay around 3:30 a.m., Major Leon Divino, Lopez police chief, said in a spot report.
Report said the wayward truck-trailer which was bound for Manila occupied the opposite lane and consequently hit two vans and a pick-up until it finally crashed into the house of one Jaime Decena.
Report said Lopez, two van drivers, and four passengers of the vehicles involved sustained injuries and were rushed by rescuers to Magsaysay Memorial Hospital at the town center.
The victims agreed to amicably settle the matter out of court, police said. /je
