Lacson: Reason why I get more info than others? Discipline to protect sources

MANILA, Philippines — “Probably one reason why I get more information than the others is my discipline to protect my sources no matter what.”

Senator Panfilo Lacson said this Wednesday night amid calls to reveal his sources in accusing the House of allocating “pork” to its 22 deputy speakers.

“And some pathetic congressmen want me to reveal my sources?” Lacson asked on Twitter.

Lacson earlier said that some congressmen informed him that the 22 deputy speakers of the House would get an additional allocation of P1.5 billion each.

This information, however, Lacson admitted, has yet to be verified.

But this prompted House Majority Leader Martin Romualdez and Capiz 2nd District Rep. Fredenil Castro to ask Lacson to reveal the source of his information as they are clueless as from whom the information was from.

“At this point right now, nobody seems to know where it’s coming from and it would be helpful if the good senator could help us ferret out the truth by revealing us the sources and the details of this information,” Romualdez said./ac
