Alleged rebels surrender, yield guns, say Ecija police

CABANATUAN CITY–Four alleged communist rebels on Monday, Sept. 23, surrendered to authorities in San Jose City, police said. Col. Leon Victor Rosete, Nueva Ecija police chief, said the surrender was facilitated by the provincial police’s intelligence branch and the 2nd Provincial Mobile Field Force (PMFC). The former rebels, who operated in Nueva Ecija, Nueva Vizcaya and Kalinga Apayao, also turned over their firearms. The alleged rebels are now in the custody of the 2nd PMFC. Armand Galang/tsb
