Murder convict freed by GCTA surrenders to Mandaluyong cops
MANILA, Philippines — A convicted murderer, who was freed early because of the good conduct time allowance (GCTA) law, surrendered to police in Mandaluyong City on Monday afternoon, police said Tuesday.
A report from the Mandaluyong police station under Col. Remigio Sedante said the 65-year-old freed convict yielded to authorities at the Mandaluyong police station at around 3:48 p.m.
Police said the surrenderer was convicted of two counts of murder on January 23, 1995 and was released from the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City on April 5, 2019. /muf
