Bulacan village chief gunned down in broad daylight

BALIWAG, Bulacan –– A village chair here was shot dead by unidentified motorcycle-riding assailants on Monday, police said.

Police Col. Chito Bersaluna, Bulacan police director, said Ronaldo Rivera, captain of Barangay San Jose, was on board an Isuzu truck and was traveling along a road in Barangay Tarcan during the attack at noon.

Investigators said the gunmen trailed the victim and fired successive shots at him.

Rivera suffered multiple bullet wounds and died on the spot.
