High school student yields to cops after killing Leyte town electrician

TACLOBAN CITY –– A 20-year-old senior high school student surrendered to the police after killing a municipal electrician in Barangay Cayare, San Miguel town, Leyte, on Thursday morning.

Artemio Brazil was cleaning his front yard at 7:10 a.m. when the suspect, Jorent Greg Labaclado, confronted and shot him in the head using a caliber-38 revolver.

Investigators said an old grudge was the motive behind the killing.

Labaclado voluntarily surrendered to the San Miguel Municipal Police Station together with the firearm he used in killing the victim./lzb
