According to the Philippine Statistics Authority, there were a total of 585,798 registered deaths in 2018.
Of this number, 74,894 were from the National Capital Region, the second highest among all regions.
The Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) region ranked first with 85,772 deaths registered. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
