Monsoon rains disrupt classes in Benguet anew

BAGUIO CITY – Classes have been canceled for the third time this week in parts of Benguet province due to sporadic but intense monsoon rains on Thursday,  August 15.

Monsoon rains have been pounding Benguet province, including Baguio City and parts of Mountain Province the past few days. INQUIRER / Vincent Cabreza

Classes in all levels have been suspended in the mining town of Itogon and in the farming towns of Kapangan and Kabayan.

A deadly landslide struck Itogon at the height of a storm last year.

Classes in pre-school, elementary and high school levels are also suspended in  Kibungan and Mankayan.

The municipalities of Tublay, Atok, Bokod and La Trinidad suspended classes in pre-school and elementary levels. /gsg
