DID YOU KNOW: Aug. 6-12 is National Hospital Week

05:00 AM August 06, 2019

National Hospital Week is observed annually from Aug. 6 to 12 by virtue of Proclamation No. 181 signed on May 21, 1993, by then President Fidel Ramos.

The first day of National Hospital Week coincides with the birth anniversary of Dr. Sixto Orosa on Aug. 6.

He drafted Act No. 3168 of the Philippine Legislature which established provincial hospitals across the country and organized what has evolved into a national hospital system.—Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
