Binondo shooting incident probed
MANILA, Philippines — Authorities on Tuesday said that they were looking into the shooting incident in Binondo, Manila which left two vendors dead Monday night.
PO2 Jose Gumilan case investigator from the Homicide Section of the Manila Police District said that victims Alvin Garrido, 32, and Dionisio Talao, 32, both from Tondo, Manila, were closing shop at the corner of C.M. Recto Avenue and Juan Luna Street at around 10:30 p.m. when two unidentified suspects opened fire at them and fled.
Garrido sustained gunshot wounds to his neck and chin while Talao suffered gunshot wounds to his forehead, neck and knee.
The victims were rushed to the nearby Mary Johnston Hospital but were declared dead on arrival by the attending physician, said Gumilan. Their remains have been turned over to the Sanctuary Funeral Homes for autopsy.
Authorities recovered four spent shells of a still undetermined caliber.
