From Pasay to QC: Senators arrive at Batasang Pambansa for Sona
MANILA, Philippines — Wearing their barong Tagalog and Filipiniana, several senators arrived Monday afternoon at the Batasang Pambansa in Quezon City in time for President Rodrigo Duterte’s fourth State of the Nation Address (Sona).
The senators went straight from the Senate in Pasay City to the House of Representatives in Quezon City following their first regular session of the 18th Congress.
Among those present for Duterte’s Sona were neophyte Senators Francis Tolentino and Imee Marcos.

Tolentino said among the issues he expects to be addressed during the Sona is the current state of foreign policy.
Returning senators Bong Revilla, Lito Lapid, and Pia Cayetano were also in attendance.

Cayetano said she is excited to hear “good news” from Duterte.
Senate President Tito Sotto, who was reelected for the Senate’s 18th Congress, was also present as well as re-elected Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri.
Incumbent Senators Nancy Binay, Richard Gordon, Koko Pimentel, Risa Hontiveros, Joel Villanueva, Sherwin Gatchalian, Ralph Recto, and Grace Poe, also arrived. /jpv
