Manila cops arrest Binondo’s fourth most wanted fugitive
MANILA, Philippines — Binondo’s fourth most wanted fugitive has been arrested by elements of the Manila Police in Binondo, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno announced on Monday.
Moreno identified the fugitive as Jeffrie Ray de Guzman. Moreno added that De Guzman is the subject of an arrest warrant for rape issued by the Manila Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 4. The arrest warrant was issued by the court on May 4, 2017.
According to Moreno, intelligence operatives of the Manila Police District Station 11, led by station commander Police Lt. Col. Noel Alino, received information that De Guzman was confined at a Pasay City hospital.
Alino then dispatched a team to the hospital and arrested De Guzman after a verification of the information.
Aside from rape, police said De Guzman is also facing charges for theft and robbery .
De Guzman’s arrest was made in line with the intensified anti-criminality campaign launched by Moreno and the Manila Police District. /muf
