Widow drowns in Ecija river

GUIMBA, Nueva Ecija – A 70-year-old widow drowned in a river here on Tuesday morning, police said.

The victim was identified as Lorena Tabulinar, a vendor and a resident of Barangay Cavite here.

Police said a neighbor discovered the victim’s body floating in the river at 11:40 a.m.

Investigators said the victim, who was suffering from hypertension, was last seen crossing the river and was swept by a strong current. Armand Galang (Editor: Leti Boniol)
