MAN SHOT DEAD IN CONSOLACION

A-21-YEAR-OLD man was shot dead by two motorcycle-riding men in barangay Cansaga, Con solacion town, northern Cebu.

Kevin Mata succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds in the body.

Fraternity rivaly is being looked into as possible motive of the killing as the victim was reportedly a member of the a Tau Gamma Phi fraternity, said police.

Police said Mata was with friends walking along a road when a motorcycle stopped near them.

The backrider opened fire, hitting Mata.

Mata was rushed by his friends to a nearby hospital but attending doctors declared him dead.

4 HURT IN ROAD MISHAPS

FOUR persons were injured in separate vehicular accidents last Saturday afternoon in Samboan and Sibonga, southern towns of Cebu.

In barangay Tangbo, Samboan, Felix Jovelle, 27, was hit by a motorcycle while crossing a road around 4 p.m.

Jovelle sustained bruises in the body after hitting the ground hard.

The driver of the motorcycle Loudolf Dira, 27, was also wounded after he was thrown off the motorcycle.

Jovelle and Dira were brought to the MJ Cuenco Memorial Hospital in Malabuyoc town.

An hour later, a motorcycle hit a tricycle in barangay Poblacion, Sibonga, injuring the drivers of the two vehicles.

Manuel Quinto was about to overtake when it hit a tricycle driven by Philip Bondaco.

The impact threw Quinto off the road, while Bondaco was also hurt after the tricycle fell off a canal.

MAN STABBED DURING HANTAK

A 40-YEAR-OLD market laborer was stabbed and wounded by a 29-year-old habal-habal driver after they argued while playing hantak (coin toss game) in barangay Don. G. Antigua, Borbon, northern Cebu.

Danilo Marikit was wounded in the waist. The man’s attacker Jose Sumalinog surrendered to the police after the attack.

Police said the cause of argument was not immediately known. The two were seen playing hantak inside a public market when the stabbing occurred past 2 p.m. last Saturday.
