No Metro Manila mayor involved in illegal drug trade – NCRPO
MANILA, Philippines – No incumbent Metro Manila mayor is involved in the illegal drug trade, Maj. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, director of the Philippine National Police – National Capital Region Police Office (PNP – NCRPO) said on Wednesday.
“Based on our record, wala tayong mayor ngayon na sa record namin is involved sa ilegal na droga. Ayun gusto kong i-klaro yo’n ah,” Eleazar said during a weekly media forum in Manila.
“Sa Metro Manila, yung 17 na mga mayors, nire-review ko, chine-check, wala,” he further said.
Eleazar, however, said authorities will continue its monitoring local officials and police officers.
