Together again.

Months after they were rumored to be at odds with each other over the 2013 mayoral elections, Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim and Vice Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso appear to have patched things up.

On Friday, Lim expressed his desire to bequeath his post to Domagoso.

“Vice Mayor Isko is certain to be mayor after me. Why should we pick someone else? I want him to be my replacement because we both come from poor families,” Lim said at a Christmas gathering for barangay (village) officials in a restaurant.

Domagoso, meanwhile, thanked Lim in a press statement. “Sorry to disappoint our detractors and political opponents, but I will not run [as mayor] and I will run alongside Mayor Lim in 2013. It’s still Lim-Isko,” he said.

Domagoso’s statement put to rest rumors that he would be running against Lim or become the running mate of one of the mayor’s rivals.
