1 killed, six nabbed in Nueva Ecija drug busts

GUIMBA, Nueva Ecija – Police shot dead a  drug suspect and arrested six others in a separate anti-drug operations here on Saturday.

Police Lt. Col. Salvador Destura, Guimba police chief, said Reyben de Guzman was shot dead by police officers who he tried to gun down following a buy-bust operation.

De Guzman was neutralized inside a lodging house in Barangay Bacayao at about 4:45 a.m.

Investigators recovered from the drug war casualty a marked P500 bill, a .38 caliber revolver and a sachet of suspected shabu (crystal meth).

In a separate operation, police arrested John Paul Catabona, Jumarie Ramos, Edgardo Aromin, Angelo Dela Cruz, Michelle Rancapolo Gabrillo and Johana Matate Sacupayo in Barangay Saranay here at about 2:45 a.m.

Police recovered from the six suspects four sachets of suspected shabu and  drug-using items. /gsg
