Vico Sotto appeals: Please remove birthday tarps with my face

MANILA, Philippines — Pasig City Mayor-elect Vico Sotto has requested for the removal of greeting-posters bearing a large photo of himself for his birthday, saying he gets surprised when he sees his own face.

Sotto, who is known to be active on social media, made the appeal Thursday via Facebook.

“Maraming salamat po sa lahat ng bumati sa aking ika-30 na kaarawan! Pero tapos na ang birthday ko. Tanggalin niyo na ‘yung mga tarp na ‘to please! Nagugulat ako sa mukha ko eh,” his post read accompanied by a laughing emoji.

“Ang totoo, nagpaalam sakin ‘yung nagkabit nito. Pumayag na lang ako dahil alam kong excited pa ang lahat sa panalo natin,” he added.

He then reminded his constituents that displaying posters bearing his face should be avoided, especially in public areas.

“Pero pagkatapos nito, iwasan na natin ang mga tarp/poster na may mukha ko ha!! Lalo na sa mga public spaces!!” he noted.

Sotto ended the 27-year grip of the Eusebio clan in Pasig City when he won the mayoralty race in the midterm elections last May 13.
