Pagasa: Metro Manila, other parts of Luzon to have moderate to heavy rain on Tuesday afternoon

MANILA, Philippines – Residents of Metro Manila and parts of Luzon may have to get their umbrellas ready as moderate to heavy rains are expected on Tuesday afternoon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

In a thunderstorm advisory issued at 12:22 p.m., Pagasa said moderate to heavy rains with lightning and strong winds are expected over Metro Manila, Nueva Ecija, Bataan, Pampanga, Bulacan, Laguna, Rizal, Cavite, Quezon province and Batangas within the next two hours.

The state weather bureau added that some parts of Tarlac (San Clemente, Mayantoc, Santalgnacia, Gerona, Paniqui) and Palagui, Zambales are currently experiencing the said conditions which may persist within one to two hours.

Nearby areas are also advised to prepare for heavy rainfall.

“All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides,” the advisory read.

On Tuesday, Pagasa earlier said in its forecast that cloudy skies with scattered rain showers will prevail over most parts of the country.   (Editor: Mike U. Frialde)
