NCRPO fields 11,000 cops as classes start
MANILA, Philippines — The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) fielded on Monday around 11,000 police officers to secure the opening of classes for the school year 2019-2020.
Initially, NCRPO was looking at the deployment of 7,153 officers.

In a text message to INQUIRER.net, NCRPO director Maj. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar said the increase in the deployment is only for additional police visibility as students gather in schools.
He said the NCRPO has not monitored any threat for the opening of classes.
Article continues after this advertisement“This is a shared responsibility,” Eleazar said in a statement as he also inspected the situation in President Corazon Aquino Elementary School and Batasan Hills National High School in Quezon City, two of the biggest schools in terms of the student population in Metro Manila.
