‘Ex-MILF’ member nabbed for P340-k shabu in QC

MANILA, Philippines – A man who claimed to be a former member of Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) landed in jail in Quezon City after police seized P340,000 worth of shabu from him Wednesday night.
Anwar Macarimbang, 46, of Manila, was arrested along IBP Road in Barangay Batasan Hills at 11 p.m. by members of the Batasan police station
Macarimbang’s arrest came after a law enforcer posed as a buyer and bought shabu from him.
Police seized from him 50 grams of shabu worth P340,000 and marked money worth P40,500.
Police Lt. Col. Joel Villanueva told INQUIRER.net that Macarimbang identified himself as a former member of the MILF.
Villanueva, however, said they could not find proof of Macarimbang’s claim.
He also said Macarimbang was arrested in 2002 for possession of illegal drugs.
Charges will be filed against the suspect before to the Office of the Prosecutor. (Editor: Cenon B. Bibe Jr.)
