2 Air Force pilots rescued after plane crashes during training
SAN PEDRO CITY — Fishermen rescued two members of the Philippine Air Force after their plane crashed into the waters in Cavite City during training on Friday.
The pilots were identified as 1Lt. Uriel Pangket, 29, from Baguio City and 1Lt. Razelle Cerdenia, 26, from Daraga, Albay.
Both were reportedly in stable condition at the Navy Hospital in Cavite City.
Cavite police director Col. William Segun, in a report, said the pilots were on a “proficiency flight lesson” and were doing “touch and go” maneuvers when their OV 10 plane experienced an “engine failure” around 12:30 p.m. in Cavite City.
He said the aircraft went down while a guard at the runway saw the pilots being ejected.
