DOLE asks NBI for second autopsy on slain OFW

The Department of Labor and Employment (Dole) has asked the National Bureau of Investigation to conduct another autopsy on the remains of Filipino worker Constancia Dayag, who was found dead in her employer’s home in Kuwait on May 14.

“The second autopsy will help give her family the peace of mind they deserve. Equally important, the procedure may provide us a clearer view of the circumstances surrounding her death,” Acting Labor Secretary Renato Ebarle said in a statement.

Dayag’s remains were expected to arrive in Manila on Thursday.

The 47-year-old household worker was found with bruises and contusions all over her body and injuries that suggest sexual assault. She left behind two sons and a daughter.

Ebarle gave a total of P320,000 financial assistance from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration and various recruitment agencies and associations to Dayag’s daughter, Lovely Jane.
