SAN PABLO CITY, Laguna — Senatorial candidate Rodrigo “Jiggy” Manicad Jr. cast his vote Monday morning at the Don Enrique Bautista Elementary School in this city, reminding voters to be vigilant.

Having spent 23 years as a journalist, Manicad said he saw everything from vote buying, to harassment to terrorism.

He said the reality was there would be those who would attempt to rig the elections.

“We should be vigilant. Report those who are buying votes because that is one of their ways,” he said.

Manicad first heard mass with his wife Marnie at the Carmelite Monastery and then proceeded to the school. After waiting in line for around two hours, Manicad was able to cast his vote. (Editor: Leti Z. Boniol)
