Pulse Asia latest survey shows 9 party-list groups as probable winners

MANILA, Philippines — Nine out of the 134 party-list groups for the upcoming May 13 mid-term elections may potentially secure seats in the House of Reprentatives, the latest Pulse Asia Survey showed.

In the survey released by the major pollster released Saturday, the Anti-Crime and Terrorism Community Involvement and Support (ACT-CIS) led with a 10.6 percent voter preference.

Following ACT-CIS was the Ako Bicol Political Party with 6.72 percent voter preference. Militant group Bayan Muna came in third with 6.07 percent voter preference.

Other partytlists included were Citizens’ Battle Against Corrupt (CIBAC) (3.68 percent), One Patriotic Coalition of Marginalized Nationals (3.5 percent), Coalitions of Associations of Senior Citizens of the Philippines, Inc. (2.77 percent), Alyansa ng mga Mamamayang Probinsyano (2.72 percent), An Waray (2.43 percent) and Magkakasama sa Sakahan, Kaunlaran (2.20 percent).

Pulse Asia said that the nine partylists who made the cut obtained at least two percent voter preference.

The probable winners will obtain a seat in the Lower House during the first round of allocation as provided by the Feb. 17, 2017 resolution issued by the Supreme Court.

And based on the procedure for allowing the maximum number of 59 seats for party-list representatives in the said resolution, the three leading groups (ACT-CIS, Ako Bicol and Bayan Muna) would succeed in winning three seats in the House of Representatives, should they win.

The recently released survey also showed that Cynthia Villar was the top choice for the senatorial race among voters. (Editor: Jonathan P. Vicente)
