Pangilinan on opposition Senate bets: ‘No retreat, no surrender’
MANILA, Philippines — Just days before the May 13 polls, Senator Francis Pangilinan, president of the Liberal Party, said there will be no retreat nor surrender for the opposition’s senatorial slate.
“Ipaglalaban natin ito hanggang dulo and we are continuing, sabi nga nila no retreat, no surrender. We will push for the eight candidates until the very end,” Pangilinan said Wednesday in an interview with ABS-CBN News Channel.
“We have five more days before the elections. We are going all out… We are not giving up,” he added.
Pangilinan said the opposition will continue to push for its advocacies as the elections draw near, even as recent surveys included only a few of its candidates in the Magic 12.
He said the opposition will bank on the track record of all its eight senatorial candidates, whom he also calls the “eight avengers.”
Pangilinan also dismissed the thought that the opposition is not picking up in the pre-election surveys.
