PNP chief inaugurates new police building; e-blotter launched

DIRECTOR General Nicanor Bartolome, chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), led the inauguration of the new building of the Cebu City Police Station 2 formerly known as Fuente police station.

Police also launched the e-blotter, a digital record of crimes reported to the police, which can be viewed  by other police stations in the country.

The P16-million building is located at the corner of R. Landon Street and Osmeña Boulevard across the Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO-7) headquarters.

The lot where the building is built was donated by the Chong Hua Hospital along with Association Benevola De Cebu Inc. and Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) under the Adopt a Police Station Program.

Samuel Chioson, CCCI president, attended the affair.

“Let this be a testament to the success of the public-private partnership envisioned by our government under Aquino administration,” said Chong Hua president Lim Lui in a statement read by his representative.

Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama urged policemen to take care of the “beautiful structure.”

The new police station is the fourth police station built under the Adopt a Police Station Program.

Other police stations built under the program were the Mabolo, Waterfront, and San Nicolas-Pasil police stations.

Rama said Chief Supt. Ager Ontog, former chief of the Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO-7), contributed to the building of the new police station.

In his speech, Rama welcomed the return of Senior Supt. Josephus Angan and Senior Supt. Louie Oppus.

Angan is the PRO-7 chief of staff while Oppus is the deputy regional director for operation.

Rama added that he wanted all policemen assigned at the Fuente police precinct will be replaced.
