NBI nabs 2 alleged drug peddlers in Bohol
TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol–Agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI)-Bohol arrested two men and seized P105,000 worth of shabu in a drug bust in Barangay Taloto here on Wednesday afternoon.
The suspects were identified as Jose Joy Balida, 30, and Hermis Bantugan, 29.
Bantugan is the brother of Teofilo Bantugan, who was arrested for P2.3-million worth of illegal drugs in 2017, according to lawyer Rennan Augustus Oliva, head of NBI-Bohol.
The suspects, who the NBI considered as high-value targets, were under surveillance for about two months.
The NBI is validating reports that the suspects obtained their supply of illegal drugs from the drug transactions inside the Bohol District Jail.
Recovered from the suspects were 17 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P105,000 and assorted drug paraphernalia.
