Drug suspect nabbed in Pampanga, P1 million worth of shabu seized
SAN FERNANDO CITY, Philippines — A man who was acting suspiciously in front of a barangay hall in Magalang, Pampanga turned out to be a drug suspect after he dropped around P1 million worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) during a police chase on Wednesday.
Lt. Col. Michael John Riego, Magalang town police chief said the suspect, July Baluyut, dropped the shabu which was packed in a plastic sachet, during the chase.
The white powdery contents of the sachet later tested positive for shabu at the Angeles City crime laboratory, Riego said.
Police said the plastic sachet contained 300 grams of shabu with a street value of P1.08 million.
Baluyut, 32, was with a 4-year-old boy when village watchmen found him to be acting suspiciously in front of the barangay hall, police said.
The boy was turned over to government social workers.
