MANILA, Philippines – The Bureau of Immigration (BI) arrested  in Mandaluyong City two Chinese nationals wanted for cybercrimes in China, the agency said Monday.

The BI identified the arrested foreign nationals as Hong Wenbin, 34 and Li Cheng, 36.

BI chief Jaime Morente said that operatives from the bureau’s Fugitive Search Unit nabbed the suspects inside their condominium unit in Mandaluyong City last April 25.

The two were also reportedly hiding in the Philippines since October last year when they arrived together in Manila as tourists.

“We will send them back to China as soon as their deportation orders are issued.  Their continued presence here poses a threat to public safety and security,” Morente said in statement.

He added that Hong and Li have are now blacklisted and banned from re-entering the country. /gsg
