Woman yields P240K ‘shabu’ in Digos
DIGOS CITY–Police have arrested a woman suspected to be a big-time drug trafficker in this city and seized frome her around P240,000 worth of suspected shabu (crystal meth) in a buy-bust operation on Friday night.
Police Captain Deozar Almasa, city police director, said they initially arrested suspect Cristina Durano, 43, in an entrapment operation and later on applied for a search warrant for her place to check for other possible drug supply.
Several packs of suspected shabu were recovered when they implemented a search warrant at Durano’s house located at Purok Gemelina, Aurora extension, Barangay San Miguel here at around 11:50 p.m.
The raiding team seized three big packs, two medium-sized sachets, and 10 pieces of small sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu; and drug paraphernalia. The stash had a combined value of P240,000, he said.
Digos City Mayor Joseph Peñas lauded the local police for their accomplishments in the war against illegal drugs.
