Maynilad released Thursday via its Facebook page a list of barangays in Manila, Malabon, Navotas, Valenzuela, Quezon City, Parañaque, Pasay, Las Piñas, and Bacoor in Cavite that will be affected by the water supply interruption.

This will take effect starting Holy Tuesday, April 16 until Black Saturday, April 20.

The concessionaire said this is to make way for its “water network enhancement activities—including facility maintenance works, pipe decommissioning, pipe interconnections, and valve replacements.”

“The activities will be done during the Holy Week, when fewer customers are expected to be home, thus lessening the impact of service interruptions on water consumers,” Maynilad said.

“Besides these major activities, Maynilad will also take the opportunity to conduct smaller, parallel activities like leak detection and leak repairs, which would otherwise require the implementation of separate service disruptions,” it added.

Maynilad also recommended affected customers to store water at least three days before the scheduled interruption “to prevent simultaneous heavy withdrawals of water from our pipelines.” /je
