LPA to spawn rainshowers over parts of Visayas, Mindanao
MANILA, Philippines – A low pressure area (LPA) will bring rains over parts of Visayas and Mindanao, the state weather bureau said Monday.
The LPA was last spotted 900 kilometers east of Davao City, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
Pagasa weather specialist Meno Mendoza said the weather disturbance won’t likely intensify into a tropical cyclone.
Eastern Visayas and Mindanao will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms.
The rest of the country will generally have sunny weather due to the easterlies, the dominant weather system during summer season.
Isolated rains or thunderstorms, however, are still possible, Pagasa said. /gsg
