Alleged drug pusher killed in Lucena buy-bust

LUCENA CITY, Philippines  – An alleged drug pusher was killed in a buy-bust operation here Monday night, police said.

Senior Supt. Osmundo de Guzman, Quezon police director said suspect Jun-Jun Besaen, 32, was shot dead when he reportedly resisted arrest after  selling “shabu” (crystal meth) to an undercover police officer during the bust in Barangay 4 at around 10:20 p.m.

According to the report, as the undercover police officer was about to implement the arrest, Besaen pulled out his caliber .38 revolver and opened fired as he ran.

Police said Besaen missed as another police officer opened fire, killing him on the spot.

Seized from the suspect was the revolver and a plastic sachet containing suspected shabu worth P500.

Police added that Besaen was included in the local police drug watch list. /muf
