MANILA, Philippines — Senator JV Ejercito slammed on Tuesday a poster making fun of the measles outbreak.

In a tweet, Ejercito shared a photo of the tarpaulin with his name on it and  the caption: “Salamat sa Tigdas, Araw-araw bata todas.”

“Being an election year, I have expected some to resort to black propaganda,” the senator said referring to the upcoming midterm polls. “But when dirty tricks make fun of a serious issue such as the measles outbreak, then I have to condemn it as heartless and reckless.”

Ejercito also asked the person behind the poster to “leave the innocent children alone.”

“Beat me up, but please leave innocent children alone,” he said. /ee
