Phone snatcher collared in Quezon City

MANILA, Philippines – Police arrested a construction worker who was involved in a phone snatching incident before dawn in  Barangay Kalusugan in Quezon City.

Arrested was Marlon Cabunag, 19, while two of his cohorts escaped.

Investigation showed that the three suspects approached an employee of a convenience store along  E. Rodriguez Boulevard corner Sta. Ignacia Street at around 2 a.m. and grabbed his mobile phone.

Patrolling police officers in the area chased the suspects who boarded a tricycle.

Cabunag was eventually collared while the two other suspects sped off.

Pursuit operations against the two suspects have been launched while appropriate charges will be filed against Cabunag.  / gsg
