CIDG chief Amador Corpus advances to two-star rank
MANILA, Philippines — The director of the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) was promoted to the rank of Police Director or a two-star general.
In a document dated on Monday but released to the media only on Friday, the promotion of CIDG director Chief Supt. Amador Corpus to the next higher rank, which was endorsed by the chairperson of the Civil Service Commission and recommended by the National Police Commission (Napolcom), has been approved.
The CIDG is tasked to investigate all major cases that violate the Revised Penal Code and to operate against organized crime groups.
Other police officers promoted to the rank of Chief Superintendent or a one-star rank general are Senior Supt. Jesus Dagadag Cambay Jr., Senior Supt. Romeo Platino de Castro, and Senior Supt. Nestor Eswagen Felix.
Meanwhile, Supt. Jonathan Bernaldez Abella will also be promoted to the rank of Senior Superintendent. /ee
