DID YOU KNOW: Bureau of Customs dates back to 1902

The Philippine Customs Service, mandated to collect all revenues from imported goods, was created by virtue of Administrative Act No. 355 passed on Feb. 6, 1902.

Public Act No. 430 then transformed the agency into the Bureau of Customs and Immigration.

Commonwealth Act No. 613 split up the agency into the Bureau of Customs and Bureau of Immigration. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
