GSIS Cebu supports env’t as it celebrates 74 years
The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS-7) Cebu Regional Office recognized the importance of preserving the environment.
As part of its corporate social responsibility, GSIS conducted a mangrove planting activity along the coast of South Poblacion, Naga City, Cebu last May 14.
The GSIS employees headed by Regional Manager Ma. Fatima Alvarez braved the mud and the heat of sun and planted 850 propagules of mangrove, hoping to create a vibrant sanctuary for the marine life in the next few years.
A team from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) provided technical assistance to the participants.
On its 74th founding anniversary celebration today, the GSIS reaffirms its commitment to its “Taos Pusong Serbisyo, Para sa Miembro.”
“To Mother Earth it commits responsibility for helping preserve, nurture and grow mangroves that will sustain the life of the food chain from the sea,” the GSIS Cebu Regional office said in its press statement.
