Fire destroys 25 houses in Laguna
SAN PEDRO CITY – Fire hit a residential area in this city, burning down at least 25 houses made of light materials, on Tuesday afternoon.
San Pedro police chief Supt. Giovannie Martinez said the blaze, which lasted for over an hour was put out around 5:30 p.m. He said the fire hit a community of informal settlers on the boundary of Barangays San Vicente and Calendola.
Bureau of Fire investigators initially said the fire started in the home of a certain Rodel Antonino and spread to neighboring houses.
Investigators, however, have yet to find out what caused the fire. /kga
