141 Sinulog revelers nabbed in Cebu City
CEBU CITY—At least 141 revelers, including 10 minors rescued, were arrested during the night of Sinulog Grand Parade on Sunday.
Senior Supt. Royina Garma, director of Cebu City Police Office (CCPO), said that on the night of Sinulog Grand Parade they launched an all-out liquor ban operation.
“Ito yung nga na-arrest within the (300 meter radius of) Sinulog route. Kahit may liquor ban yung iba talagang inilipat sa ibang lalagyan yung alcohol,” said Garma.
Garma said that since there was an order issued by the Cebu City government banning street parties and liquor from 6 a.m. of January 20 to 6 a.m. on Jan. 21, they immediately arrested those revelers who violated the order.
Garma said they also arrested those who became unruly.

When they interviewed the arrested persons, Garma said most of them were not from Cebu Coty.
“Outside Cebu City talaga. May sa Danao, Mandaue. May outside the province din,” said Garma.
But Garma said that being a non-resident in the city does not mean they are not bound by the liquor and street party ban.
Despite some unruly crowd, Garma said the Sinulog Grand Parade was “very successful.”/lzb
