Duterte: Cops, soldiers involved in kidnapping, high-profile killings

MANILA, Philippines – Some members of the police and the military are involved in high-profile killings, President Rodrigo Duterte said Tuesday, following the spate of violent attacks against politicians in the country.
“Itong mga kidnapping, karamihan diyan involved ang pulis. High-profile killing, may involved diyan Army, pulis, pati NPA (New People’s Army),” Duterte told participants to the Barangay Summit on Peace and Order in Pasay City.
The President, however, did not elaborate.
In December last year, AKO Bicol Rep. Rodel Batocabe, 52, was gunned down after a gift-giving event in Daraga, Albay.
Former Kadingilan town mayor in Bukidnon Joelito Talaid was also ambushed in December.
