NCRPO: Telco signals will be jammed in parts of Manila during Traslacion
MANILA, Philippines — The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has coordinated with government agencies to jam telecommunication signals along the routes of the Black Nazarene procession in Manila.
NCRPO chief Guillermo Eleazar said in a statement on Monday that it has coordinated with the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) and the Department of Information and Communications (DICT) to jam telecommunication signals on Wednesday.
Authorities usually jam signals as a measure to prevent bomb attacks, as mobile phone calls are usually used as trigger.
The police, according to Eleazar, will also strictly implement a “no fly zone, no sail zone” during the procession.

Eleazar appealed to the public to leave the children, the elderly family members with physical disabilities, and the sick at home.
