Christmas caroling 8-year-old boy killed in Pasig hit-and-run case

MANILA, Philippines — An eight-year-old boy Christmas caroling in a Pasig City neighborhood was killed after being ran over by a vehicle, reportedly an SUV, last Tuesday.

Reports reaching the Pasig City Police Station showed Miguel Eco, a resident of Rodriguez Compound in Barangay Rosario, was making his rounds of houses Bernal Street, Rayos Compound in a bid to earn coins for Christmas caroling when the vehicle hit him.

The boy was rushed to Pasig City General Hospital but was declared dead on arrival by a doctor.

Police said that the case is still under investigation, as they try to determine the details of the vehicle that killed the boy. Authorities were looking into closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras in the area. /kga
